Superb golf is available in the area.  The village of Edzell has a superb golf course.  Designed by Bob Simpson, the 18 hole par 71 course was originally laid out in 1895 then altered some 39 years later by the legendary James Braid.  The course is set in the gateway to the Angus Glens in the picuresque and peaceful setting.  There is a nine hole course and driving range also available.

Montrose a mere 12 miles away, has a superb links course which is used as a qualifiying course for the Open when it is held at Carnoustie.

Brechin has an interesting course for those who enjoy the challenge of a few hills. Excellent courses are also at Forfar, Kirrimuir and Alyth.
