Edzell Village
Edzell village offers local amenities including golf club, lawn bowling club, hotels, restaurants and coffee shops, post office, gift shops, garage and a range of general stores.
Golf Club
The golf club is close to the house and set in the most magnificent scenery. The original course was laid out in 1895 then re-designed in 1933/34. One of Scotlands best kept golfing secrets, Edzell offers both an eighteen and nine hole course covering some 128 acres and a driving range.
Walks
The North Esk river flows below the village and provides fishermen, walkers and wildlife enthusiasts with a wonderful setting on the doorstep. Both forest and river walks are accessible from the doorstep. Edzell is well placed as a base to visit the renowned Angus Glens.
Edzell Castle
The main tower and courtyard is now an attractive ruin and tourist attraction. The castle has a unique contemplative walled garden, featuring 400 year old carved panels, nesting and planting boxes.
Local Castles
Edzell is an ideal base to explore the many and varied local castles, including Glamis, Dunnottar and Drumtochty Castle to name a few.
Whisky Distillery Tours
There are two local distilleries where tours are available : Fettercairn Distillery and Glencadam Distillery, Brechin.
